Effect of farm size on yields and biodiversity.
A fascinating new meta-analysis published three weeks ago in Nature Sustainability looked at 118 studies from 51 countries to “synthesise current knowledge through an evidence review and meta-analysis”. They “show that small of farms, on average, have higher yields and harbour greater crop and non-crop biodiversity at the farm and landscape scales than do larger farms.
