Producers
Producers are at the center of our food systems. According to FAO, more than 90 percent of world farms are family farms, occupying around 70–80 percent of farmland and producing about 80 percent of the world’s food in value terms.
Producers are a diverse group in terms of sector, size and geography, and are a category of their own. Given the central role producers play nurturing our society with the food they produce, there is a need to ensure that farmers, fishers, pastoralists, renderers, workers and others can all be fully engaged with a collective voice throughout the Summit process.
This producer space on the community site aims to encourage meaningful producer engagement to bring forward producer-led solutions and commitments that can fundamentally transform our food systems and advance the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
