The United Republic of Tanzania will continue to respond to the growing concern of the negative impacts of climate change and climate variability on the country’s social, economic, and physical environment. This will be implemented through the National Climate Change Strategy which response to the above needs by ensuring that there is more coordination and complementarity between key economic sectors in implementing climate change activities. Moreover, this Strategy makes it easier for the country to benefit from global climate change mitigation and adaptation opportunities while contributing significantly to the international community efforts to address climate change.

Both fragile ecosystems play a central role in sustainable productivity and food security at local (food provision, rural development through food sector SME, tourism and ecosystem services such as water) and global level (as natural sensors of landscapes degradation and climate change).

The aim of the coalition is to bring together a broad group of producer and consumer countries, companies, and international organizations committed to working together to deliver deforestation- and conversion-free food supply chains as part of a new model of agricultural production that optimizes food production enhance rural livelihoods, and protects and restores the natural environment.
